AI implementation

Questions to ask an AI implementation partner

A productive vendor conversation should leave the business clearer about the work. Ask questions that turn broad promises into defined responsibilities.

Ask what the first implementation includes.

Describe your business task and ask the partner to explain the proposed scope in ordinary language. What is included, what information is required, and what would need a separate decision?

Ask how the workflow connects to the people and systems already involved. Keep the discussion specific to your situation. An implementation plan should explain what each side needs to provide and which assumptions still need checking.

Ask how the result will be reviewed.

Discuss the test scenarios, the intended outcomes, and the people who will approve the workflow. Include exceptions and the route to human help. Make sure the business understands how issues will be recorded and corrected.

Clarify the commercial scope directly with the provider: implementation work, ongoing support, usage-related costs, and requested changes. Avoid comparing a headline price without understanding the responsibilities and work it covers.

Ask what happens after launch.

Find out who handles questions when your process changes and how the workflow can be paused or revised. Ask what your team will be expected to monitor and how progress will be discussed.

I came to AI as a business owner looking for useful work inside my own companies. That experience is why I value a clear implementation conversation. A strong next step is a defined plan the business can understand, review, and take responsibility for.

TAKE IT INTO THE BUSINESS

A practical check.

  • What exactly is included?
  • What must our team provide?
  • How are testing and exceptions handled?
  • Who supports changes after launch?
